Coming Home to Your Body

Learn to live in and love your body!

Wednesday Nights January 21 - April 8 (6:00 - 8:00 PM ET) -- Online Via Zoom

"Coming Home to your Body" is about living in and loving the body you have!

The majority of women (and many men) live in a space of cultural confinement in relation to their body and eating behaviors. We all do things like:

  • Compromise psychological, physiological, and spiritual well-being to attain a specific weight.

  • Obsess on the thinness ideal and societal beauty standards.

  • Wage war with our body and eating behaviors.

"Coming Home to your Body" is a twelve-week online training that offers a new way engaging things like: how we think about and experience food and eating; our attachments to weight, body image, and societal beauty standards; and our bodily awareness. The course offers four modules that are each covered over the span of three weeks.

  • Being at Home in Our Bodies: In this module, we will focus on tuning into the body’s emotions, sensations, and intuition. Equanimity; Nowness; and Opening-Openness, the three practices that ground ElI's first pillar (Somatic Sensibilities), will provide the foundation for being at home in our bodies.

  • Critically Engaging Cultural Confinement: In this module, we will address the main themes of cultural confinement (Identity, the Body & Eating Behavior; Mediated Madness; and Unconscious Comparison & Competition).

  • The Cycle of Surrender: In this module, we will learn how the surrender cycle (Cultivating Compassion; Sitting with Discomfort; and Sacred Spirituality) can heal our thinking, experiencing, and being in the realms of eating, body image, and societal beauty standards.

  • The Power of We: In this module, we will practice reclaiming our collective well-being surrounding eating, body image, and societal beauty standards through the practices of Unitive Consciousness; Sacred Storytelling; Collective Co-Creation
